The Group oversees and feeds into the work of Forming Responsible Citizens (FRC), an initiative coordinated by ideaborn since 2015. FRC is being implemented in Tunisia, Morocco, Lebanon and Jordan. It focuses on the development of the most effective instruments for civic and citizenship education in secondary schools within the local context and through experiential learning methodology. The implementation of FRC highlighted the need for two more initiatives, now led by the same Working Group:
- One school, One year supports longer-term sustainability of citizenship-based teaching and learning programmes, addressing both formal and non-formal education.
- The Graduate diploma in participatory education supports secondary school teachers through continued education programmes, fostering a participatory approach and the application of citizenship values in all education curricula.
