KEY SERVICES

GCEF supports, with courses and technical assistance, the collaboration of state and non-state actors in the promotion of citizenship and good governance values.

It divides its work into four major blocks.   The first one focuses on the gradual implementation and monitoring of international human rights conventions, and the other three tackle potential human rights conflicting scenarios to help transform challenges into opportunities.

  • Support to advance in effectively implementing human rights conventions, searching synergies between public and private sectors, civil society organizations and universities
  • Assist in maximizing the positive effect of public and private investments in roads, forestry, energy and alike for the sustainable development of neighboring communities
  • Help to not leave anybody behind in the implementation of international trade agreements, engaging to include vulnerable communities
  • Promote the triple nexus between humanitarian aid, sustainable development and peace to strengthen reconciliation processes in areas affected by armed conflict

Citizenship implies assuming and exercising the rights that one has as a person, as well as the duties that these rights entail towards the people around us, and the responsibility that must accompany the exercise of these rights and duties by everyone. When we focus on rights, duties and responsibilities in the collective, we speak of governance.
